Cakewalk, who are owned by the Roland Corporation, who make the SONAR range of software have put together a range of teaching resources. SONAR is the biggest selling Music Technology software in the world. SONAR is not widely used in the UK at present but this is set to change with the takeover by Roland. The latest version of SONAR has a fantastic range of facilities (better than Cubase in my opinion) and is considerably cheaper and extremely user friendly. All Edirol Audio Interfaces have a free copy of SONAR LE included which is sufficient to use all the resources on this page. The only downside is that SONAR is PC only at present.
SONAR Music Projects are
educational support materials designed for use with Cakewalk
SONAR programs. They are intended for teachers to use with Key
Stage 3 Music classes. Selected projects could also be used with
other teaching groups as an introduction to technology skills.
The materials are compatible with most programs in the SONAR
series, including SONAR LE (the version that is included with
EDIROL hardware products).
